2017 Season – Week #3

Hey Team,

Sorry for the late update for this week.  We will continue to progress slowly with increasing our mileage.  If you haven’t been attending practices please make sure you’re running some on your own so you’re ready for Cultus and the start of our official season!  Here’s the schedule this week:

Mon – 1-3 Loops of Overturf Butte (3.5/5.1/6.7 miles)

Tue – Short Run/Strength Training (2.5/3.5 miles)

Wed – River Canyon Loop (3/5 miles)

Thur – Short Run/Strength Training (2.5/3.5 miles)

Fri – Farewell Bend/South Footbridge (4/6.5 miles)

Sat – Run 30-60 min on your own or with teammate(s)

Sun – Rest

Don’t forget that our Cultus Team Camp is coming up in August!  Please signup following the instructions below.  Contact me for more info and to get a waiver at cougarxc@outlook.com.  Please email or bring a signed copy of the waiver to practice.

2017 Season – Week #2

Hey Team,

It was great to see so many of you out for the first week of cross country!  We are especially excited about the great turnout among freshmen.  Lets hope for a little better turnout from our upper class men this week 😊  If you have friends considering cross country or that might be interested, please encourage them to come give it a try.  Please also encourage teammates to make summer practice a priority.  Summer training is crucial to the success of our team during the regular season!

Here are is our practice schedule for the week:

Sunday 7/2 – Rest Day
Monday 7/3 – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am for a Scavenger Hunt.  We know many of you will miss practice for the holiday weekend so let’s have some fun for those of you still here!
Tuesday 7/4 – 4th of July.  No practice.  Enjoy time with your family and celebrate our wonderful country!
Wednesday 7/5 – Meet at RiverBend Park at 8:30 am.  30/40/60 minute out and back run on the Haul Road
Thursday 7/6 – Meet at Mountain View at 5:30 pm.  Short Canal/Purcell Canal & Strength Training
Friday 7/7 – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am.  30/40/60 minute out and back run on 1st Street Rapids.
Saturday 7/8 – Run 30-60 minutes on your own.

2017 Season – Week #1

Thank you so much to all of our wonderful volunteers that worked the triathlon transition and water and aid stations Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Pacific Crest.  Because of your help we raised several thousand dollars for our program that will be used for activities and freebies this season!

The 2017 Season is here and our first day of practice is Monday morning at 8:30 am in Drake Park.  Summer practices are a great way to start getting in shape and a good trial period if you’re not sure you want to do cross country yet.  Attending summer practices will also improve your race performance during the regular season.  We hope to see many of you out there!  Here is our full practice schedule this week:

Monday – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am (Meet by bike racks near footbridge).  Short Easy Run & Game (2.6 miles)
Tuesday – Meet at Mountain View Track at 5:30 pm.  Easy Run & Strength Training (2-3 miles)
Wednesday – Meet at RiverBend Park at 8:30 am (Meet by bathrooms).  Easy Run (3-5 miles)
Thursday – Meet at Mountain View Track at 5:30 pm.  Easy Run & Strength Training (2-3 miles)
Friday – Meet at Drake Park at 8:30 am (Meet by bike racks near footbridge).  Easy Run & Game (3-4 miles)
